Working Group Meetings

Corridor-wide MeetingThe Working Group meetings began in the Spring 2010 with an initial introduction meeting. The working groups will cover topics such as community impacts, interchanges, alternate routes, bike/pedestrian/open space, economic development and trucking/motor carriers.

The purpose of developing and conducting Working Groups is the following:

To obtain citizens’ input on issues concerning their neighborhoods and communities in an organized and manageable manner, and encourages regular participation in the project.  Each group will discuss issues and approaches to various project concerns and will be open to anyone.

To provide NCDOT specific “community-based” ideas and suggestions that may be incorporated into the development process of the project.

To promote citizen ownership and investment in the project and the process through the sharing of information, communication and involvement.

Meeting Notices and Meeting Minutes will be posted on the website. Individuals who have signed up to participate will receive Meeting Notices by their preferred method they prefer. For those who have not expressed their interest to the Project Team can visit this website for Meeting Notices.

If you are interested in participating and want direct notifications, please let us know by phone at 336.724.2130 or via email at businness40@business40nc.com.

The Working Groups are divided into three major topic groups as a result of the suggestions submitted by the public.
